Education

I received my bachelors degree in education from College Misericordia. I am elementary (k-6) and special education (n-12) certified. I am currently finishing my Master's degree in reading from King's College. I am currently working on achieving my reading specialist certification.

Experience

I have 10 years teaching experience with various schools. I first began teaching at All Saint's Academy where I implemented their Individualized Education Program. I then taught at West Side CTC for the Luzerne Intermediate Unit 18 where I taught learning support reading, math, and science. I have now transitioned back to my home school, Wyoming Area, where I teach 6th grade learning support reading and English/writing and co-teach reading for the past three years. I love teaching reading because it is found everywhere we look, from the moment we awake to the moment we lay our head on our pillows. Reading unlocks the doors to our future.

Bio

I was born and raised in West Pittston, where I currently reside with my husband, our amazing son, Gregory, and our Yorkie-poo, Yippy. Every day is a new adventure.

My educational philosophy is that students should have a welcoming, positive, and rich environment to learn. I have high expectations for all students and it is my job as an educator to scaffold their learning to reach their individual goals. I would like every student to love learning and become life long learners who can make a positive impact on our world.
